Nobody should be discriminated against based on their HIV status. Let's fight back.
LGBTQ PROBATE AND TRUST LITIGATION
Legal services for unique probate/trust issues in the LGBTQ community.
While our firm’s areas of practice intersect with many common areas of law (including family law and employment law), we are primarily a civil litigation firm focused on issues that impact the LGBTQ community. Our specific practice areas include:
Matters related to oral cohabitation agreements
Seeking compensation for victims of HIV/AIDS discrimination
Probate and trust litigation for LGBTQ couples
Prenuptial agreements for same-sex couples
Same-sex divorce law
Partition actions for disputes over property ownership
In addition to Mr. Keechl, our firm consists of legally trained and experienced support staff. When you work with us, you can expect personalized attention, support and answers to your toughest legal questions.
Marriage and divorce laws have changed significantly over the past 30 years, especially the legal status of same-sex marriage. Many states passed their own laws allowing or banning the practice until the U.S. Supreme Court finally weighed in.
Gay marriage is now legal in all states. But the consequences continue to be felt by same-sex couples (and former couples) who have been living in de facto marriages with none of the legal benefits or protections.
Thankfully, there are legal remedies available, and our firm is ready to help you pursue them. Kenneth E. Keechl, PA, is a statewide leader in the enforcement of oral cohabitation agreements. If you were cohabitating in an unmarried relationship and have since parted ways, we can help you claim the share of joint assets that you are entitled to. We also assist clients with other asset and inheritance matters, including LGBTQ probate.
Furthermore, our firm also handles divorce actions for LGBTQ couples, prenuptial agreements, sexual abuse, assault and harassment litigation, general business litigation and real estate and condominium litigation.
Our firm’s attorney, Kenneth Keechl, has been practicing in Florida for 30 years and has served in public office in Broward County. As an openly gay lawyer and public servant, he has long been committed to fighting for the civil rights of the LGBTQ community, with special emphasis in issues like HIV discrimination.
As a client, you can expect this same level of advocacy and passion. Your case matters to us, and we will do all we can to achieve a successful outcome for you.
